I have been wading through the copious amounts of web sites for tuning cars. I have looked at both external 'plug and play' options and ecu remapping. As you would expect each company has the best in the market.
I have a few questions if someone could answer them. I have a Golf IV gttdi 130pd:

1, does anyone know of the 'best' people to see. ie who has the best gains, fuel consumption, value for money etc?

2, presumably the 130pd and the 150pd are the same engine, so would it not be possible to re-tune my 130 to the same equivilant to what a 150 would have been tuned to?

3, without wanting to be boy-racerish (i just want more performance out of my car) is there anything else I can do without increasing to the 'roar' heard from 1.1litre saxo's?

Cheers

The 150's have a front mounted intercooler along with some other fancies, which help give that extra 20bhp.

i had my 150 remapped by chipped UK and must say best bit of cash i have spent. The car sounds the same but a massive difference in performance

I've also had my car remapped by chipped uk, PD100 gained 40bhp and 100nm torque.

There were some passats there with the PD130 lump throwing out 180 bhp.

FMIC, different cam and different turbo, amongst the other fancies.

I also have been to a remap day at Chipped UK, and got a 56BHP and 60lb/ft increase. Oh, and 6mpg for the better. Check them out, they are having another forum special day in Dec.
