I would like to share a recent fault that occurred on the Q7 where the rear lights stopped working all of a sudden. The dash error message said 'Lights fault contact workshop'.

Luckily Audi have thought about losing rear lights and backup lights in the bumper were working fine, but there was no lights on the hatch.

After scanning the car with VCDS, this error did not show  after which I called Audi Roadside assistance. ;)

After scanning it with ODIS and looking at the readings for the hatch switch signals an 'Inapplaudible signal' was being received by one of the two switches in the boot sill. (The switch that is in the sill part of the boot).

It seemed one of the 2 micro switches was giving the wrong reading and a replacement switch was ordered. (Part no: 4L0 959 121).

The switch was fitted yesterday and all is fine. :biglaugh:
