golf mk 3 exterior black plastic trim

Hi Guys

I am have 1.8 SE and the plastic trim along the doors seems to be coming loose. I have heard this can be a design fault in Mk3s and the clips holding the plastic are less the durable

has anyone stuck this trim down with a glue? or is there a more effective fix
