Hi Folks,

I have a 2015 B8 with halogen (i know) headlights.

This car was second hand purchased and I have a few questions regarding the DRL option it has and the bulbs it uses.

Firstly, I dont have front fog lights, but there appears to be space for them in the DRL or at least reflectors (which seems odd) - is this common with the early b8.

I've also noted how poor the actual DRL are, they're a very weak 3000k light (halogen i assume) and I wondered whether LEDs can be fitted in the holders? If so do i need a canbus delete.

I find the halogen lights perform poorly in the dark nights over here even when using phillips 110% bulbs - any suggestions on improvements?

Thanks
H

On the B8, If you are prepared to put the work in a 2.5” projector with HID bulb can be fitted into the halogen reflector, does need the lense baking off to get at it.
I was very happy with the light output of mine after the swap.

The DRL is 2 bulbs that can be replaced with LED, again it requires cutting out a circle of housing and glueing it back after, but this was only maybe 90 min job for both lights.

In the pic you can see one of the two bulbs replaced (guess which one!) and then both done
