Hi all,
I've just purchased a second hand turbo back (decat) non-resonated stainless exhaust for my B5 1.8TQS for a very good price. I haven't fitted it yet, and I'm wondering if it's too loud, what's the best way to make it quieter? Would it be a case of having a new back box fitted?
The rest of the car is currently 100% standard, so no induction kit or drilled air box etc.

That would be quiet on a derv but so, so on a petrol .

Is that center box a silencer / or trying to emulate a cat ?

I'll just have to wait and see. The cat on my TQS is bolted onto the turbo, so it's in the wrong place for that. I'll get it fitted in the next few weeks, and find out how it goes. Due to the lack of restriction in the system, I'm hoping for a nice gain.

If it's too much incorporate a quality silencer from Jetex .
