Hi all,

I think I either have frozen water in the screenwash line or something wrong with the pump as I don't even get a wirring from the motor, any way to check to get a definitive diagnosis?

Cheers,

Likely just frozen. You won’t get a noise from the pump as it isn’t feeding anything through. Had that experience myself. Not sure where you are but I am using 50/50 mix just now of extreme screenwash to water.

Thanks, I topped it up with prestone which I didn't think would freeze, I though any frozen water would thaw with the car running, I did a 180mile round trip with no screenwash on these gritted roads which wasn't fun

That’s what I use Prestone Extreme. Last time I froze up it took a while before it settled down even after adding neat - problem was having a Summer mix which had sat for months and in hindsight using it up and adding neat for winter would have been an idea. After getting it settled down with the proper mix in I had no future issues. This is in the full blown Scottish winter.

I use the Halfords own brand stuff that’s good for -30 and radioactive green. You know when it’s flushed out the summer stuff as the car goes green! But it’s never frozen on me

Anti freeze works for me.

Doubles as a paint stripper too............
