Hello

So first off apologies if this is in the wrong Thread or Section so please advise where I should have put it, anyway down to the issue does anyone know if the new version of 2017-2018 maps for the UK has been released, and if so where can it be found I have seen numerous videos about maps being available from the "MyAudi" Connect services on the web, however, this hasn't appeared. So either it's not available yet (I'm hoping) or it can only be done via Audi at cost

Please could anyone advise

Regards

Same issue here, got the car in June so the supplied map must be due at least one update but where/how do I find it?

Others have said the update appears in MyAudi and that a notification pops up on the MMI screen too but as yet, nothing here...

Same as me 7th of June :)

Hopefully something will be released soon in the meantime I guess it's google maps on android Auto :/

If I hear or see any thing I'll reply here

Dropped by my Audi dealer today and it seems I can only update via a new SD card for the bargain cost of £236.00 :zx11:

I sure as s$*t won't be paying that I am perfectly capable of downloading something to an SD card and installing

That's basically what I said but the service chap said the software "must be linked to the MMI" and only a dealer can do that.

That is utter bo&%ocks, considering I'm paying 34k for a car I would expect the update to the maps to be free or at the very least I should be able to do it my self.

One thing is for sure i won't be paying that now or ever I'd sooner use android Auto for free

I agree, I've paid 46K but because I did not take the technology pack with MMI Navigation Plus, online updates are not available.

Rather scandalous for a car boasting such good connectivity.

I was told the car was allowed 3(?) free map updates, over 5(?) years?

That's interesting-do you have the Technology Pack?

do you have the Technology Pack?

Yes I do, and logging onto the myAudi (https://live-my.audi.com/) account that is linked to the vehicle tells me ...

"The first five updates for the Audi connect map update service are free of charge. You will need a Java-enabled device with integral SD card reader."

Yes, if you have the Technology Pack, online updates are available. Without the TP, we are at the mercy of the Audi dealer and the £236 SD card update :(

A couple of days ago when I tried an online update through the MMI screen, it showed all the European maps were v2017/2018 version, but no updates were available, my car has no SIM installed.

Yesterday I tried via the myAudi account, it downloaded a java updater to my PC, which in turn let me download maps (I only updated the UK/Eire/Iceland ones ) and they are the v2018 maps, which I then copied to an SD card and put into slot2 in the car and the update OK went from there.

Are the maps tied to the VIN (or similar ID) of the car?
