My car (Passat s 130bph) failed mot on the 19th . The reason for failure was identified as excessively rough steering, and cv Gaitor split (off side).
Car took a direct hit by a bike February 2006, and caame back with the steering rough. The garage identified a bent steering column and the insurance company refused to authorise the job.:mad:
spoke to the insurance company and they advised to get a diagnostic on the suspension. VW identified steering rack, column as faulty. Though the guy who looked at the car said this was just an asumption because of how the steering felt. They did not actually strip the car. The insurance is refusing to pay for the job.
Question ... how can I prove that the accident caused this damage bearing in mind that the last time the column was identified as being bent was September last year. Can this bent column damage the other suspension component??
