Start stop clunk

Hi, I've got an S4 with stop start and every time I come to a stop and the engine stops there is a clunk, then when you take your foot off the brake and the engine starts there is another clunk when moving off. Its around the centre of the car so its not brakes related. Sounds like a duff DMF anyone else shed some light to this? Car has only done 16k

I take it you can also hear that clunk when you start/ stop the engine on the button? Have you been underneath to check mountings / exhaust etc? (personally, I disabled stop/start...hate it).

haven't been underneath yet but yeah it still makes the same sound with the starter button being pressed.

How do you permanently disable the stop/start? Like you I hate it.

Can only be done through VCDS software.
