tailgate release?

button on inside of drivers door not opening tailgate/tried unlocking first with key still nothing , ,got 3 setting remote & led to believe it should release with that but doesnt , , any ideas?

My experience is it only unlocks the boot lid separately from the other doors (ie if you have only unlocked the drivers door with the fob - one press, leaving the others locked).

I had expected it to what you are asking...

I have just resolved a similar issue (had a thread going during October this year if you want to read other suggestions made). My 3 button remote would not unlock the tailgate at all, but using the key would do the trick. However, having unlocked the boot with the key, closing the tailgate would have it lock again. The solution was a sticky switch/actuator mechanism that needed a little lubrication and adjustment. Easy to get to by the service mechanic who did the job in a jiffy. Now I can unlock all doors with the remote, or only the tailgate with the central button....as it was meant to do! Hope this helps
