Having the asked the same question a few weeks back...


The cheapest way, unless you need CAN-Bus support. Which as you are in this forum you are unlikely to do.


You can get a USB cable from eshrules-enterprises (http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/eshrules-enterprises/) on ebay (though he has none listed at the moment) They are £15inc postage

Then you can download VAG-COM as Devonutopia mentioned from Ross-tech.com - you will need the 409.1 serial version (not USB)

You can do quite a lot with this free version. Though the more advanced functions like syncing keys to the immobiliser require it to be reg'd thats $99 (less than £50). it is locked via the reg key to one computer.
