The car just broke down on my while driving at around 70mph, the wee coil light flashed on, I heard a ping and car just switched off and I rolled to a stop.

Towed it home, I had a thought of no diesel, but still said I had 5 miles left - by then obvious noticable thing when lifting bonnet was the auxilliary belt was shredded and came off. Replaced this and Popped some diesel in it also.
However, car still won't start. It's cranking but not starting just whining!

Snap on diagnostics show faults:

5253 Exhuast pressure sensor 1 (G450): Signal too high P0473 - No or incorrect basic setting adaptation

4882 EGR valve (N18): open circuit P1440 upper limit exceeded

Thought there might have been an airlock in diesel system, so cracked open injectors whilst turning over, plenty diesel coming out and still not starting

Do a fullscan with VCDS. Is high fuel pressure actual >= desired?
