hi, I ve got a petrol 2009 avant. I've done a little research and it appears that the MMI doesn't like any card over 2 GB. I can live with this but does anyone have a list of the brands/ sizes of card which work? Some of the old threads have links to selling sites ybut the links are now broken so just a couple of main brands that definitely work would save me time and money. Thanks in advance.

You are probably best looking on eBay if you want something as small as 2GB. I bought a cheap one in Asda last week, 16GB for <£7.

Hi, I have been using Transcend 2Gb cards from amazon. You need to make sure all the files (songs) you put on it are .mp3 and not .WAV or .m4a etc. And you can only access 512 songs per card.

Yes, it's a bit pathetic...

Is that something specific to the 2009 models? I've got the 2011 model and use a 16GB Sandisk card. Pretty sure I had several thousand tracks on there at one point as well...

Flashing radio with new soft should bring it up to read bigger sd cars, older radios(2008,09) had this limited! Op search somebody with ODIS, he can flash this, not only dealer!

My 2008 B8 would take 4GB cards but they had to be non-HC i.e. just SD not SDHC. These are increasingly difficult to get hold of but there seem to still be some of them around: try Googling "4GB SD non HC" or similar. Good luck
