Hi, hopefully this is the final chapter!, i first posted problems with mmi 3g high and then how to clean centre console/remove 5f unit to locate part number in seperate threads for which i was helped immensely (gunnark 👍). Hopefully last bit of help i need:

I bought a 5f module part number 8T2 035 666 A to replace my module part number 8T2 035 666 D. The module i bought does not have the front facial panel, it was removed and sold seperately, link to the one i bought:

Can anyone please help me understand:

1. how to remove my 5f module first, i mean unplugging from the back, will all cables just pull off, it is pretty tight behind the module with wires everywhere!

2. is the installation of the new unit easy, i mean everything just clipping back into place,

3.how to remove the front facial plate from my module and fit to the unit in the link

4.any do's and dont's

5. People locally all seem to have older versions of vcds 2008/2009, which year vcds will i need to copy the coding for the new unit before i visit Audi to have CP removed.

Hi, the new unit iv ordered wont arrive until wednesday, its a bit crap seen as though you were around over the weekend which would have been ideal. When will you next be up?, Thanks

No problem mate.

I will be heading to worksop one weekend in the near future. Just ordered a gearbox for my kit car so as soon as that is ready, I will be heading up to collect it.

If thats any good to you we can meet somewhere around there? No idea on when yet but will be a saturday morning as thats the only time they are open.
