a4 cabriolet roof clunking, rattle noise over bumps

I've got this clunking noise from the front of my convertible roof where it latches to the window frame. The noise is only apparent when going over uneven ground, I have removed the plastic trim and if I put my hand in the mechanism i can feel the clunking.
Just wondered if it's the central motor or the edge latch hooks moving slightly over bumps?

I'm sure it's one of these points as with the roof down the noise is gone when driving.

I wonder if the latches need a clean and grease up where they locate into the frame to ensure a good tight lock.
If they have become dry over the winter they may be sticking and therefore not sitting 100 percent into the locks, worth a try and cheap and easy to do

I've greased the catches and also applied some rubber tape. What I think it could be is the rectangular block so I might try and put some felt or something in there too.
