Hi all,

So I did my first fillup since I got the A7 and it turns out the fuel cap strap is missing/snapped. Can anyone advise on the part no so I can have a look online...failing that, I'll go through the dealer and get one from parts

Thanks all

mine snapped ages ago and I got the same price, £25 for a bit of chord is just ridiculous

Not had a chance to replace mine yet (or purchase) but the car is going in for a few things on the 9th from memory so I'll get it done at the same time...otherwise I will lose the cap.
No idea how I managed to not ever leave it out back in the days of my Vauxhall Corsa where attached caps were a luxury :- )

The VW and Audi ones are always snapping, very poor material. My 13 year old 175K mile Octavia is still on its original and I have never seen one snap anyway.

mine looked like it was always kinked when he fuels cap was screwed back on after a refill, literally lasted 29k before it just snapped, I did mention it to the dealer not long after I had the car and obviously not covered but thought it might be a miscellaneous part they have around, no biggie I might go to the scrap yard to see if I can get my hands on a chord or just take it off the next courtesy car I have....

Why would you take parts from a car thats not yours?

So you can afford to buy and run an A7 but not buy a £25 filler cap?

Don't think it's the fact he can't afford it, it's the price of a piece of plastic. You can get a mobile phone or bluray player for less than that.
