Noisy Fan Blower Heater?

Hi,

I believe my Touareg V6 Tdi (2009) has been struck with the common fault of a noisy blower fan heater, the whistling noise seems to be coming from behind the passenger side dash (maybe the glove box area). I'm hoping a bit of lube might help, but how do I access the unit please?

IIRC it's accessible by removing the panel below the glove box. Importantly if you decide to replace and source one from eBay or similar make sure you get a RHD version.
