DSG question

Hi All,

My wife has a 2015 A3 Sportback 1.4 TFSI with auto gearbox. We find it difficult to pull away from stop smoothly as 1st is so highly geared, it changes into 2nd at 3mph normally so it's a bit of a waste unless climbing a mountain (none of those in Surrey).

The question is, can you force it to start in 2nd?

Hi Rob,

I have edited the title of the thread so you may get more responses. I don't think you can make the gearbox pull away in 2nd though. Do you have drive select on your car? On mine, if you use comfort it seems to make it a little more gentle with changes.

Surely you mean low geared, as in it only stays in 1st for a very short time?
Your car is under warranty so I'd suggest maybe asking your dealer. A software update maybe? Different driving mode?
