I've had a 2.0 BE Quattro with STronic from new, it has now done 12,500 miles. I generally drive in dynamic mode and don't normally see much more than 38 / 39 mile to a gallon, if I'm lucky!

It was filled up with ADBLUE at 8,500 miles 'supposedly' at the local AUDI garage when the low level indictor came on. The indicator came on again at 12,100 miles couple of weeks ago ( wasn't expecting it that early to be fair) so I gave it 14 litres of Halfords finest. Ever since I am now cruising past the 42mpg almost daily . The only thing that has change is the ADBLUE, can it be this??

I can't see how as it's injected directly into the exhaust.

Increase in fuel economy most likely due to milder and dryer weather conditions. Possibly also your engine 'loosening up'.

The AdBlue is purely for the emissions and has no bearing on economy/performance. Probably a combination of the engine settling in and the weather being less cold so reaching optimal running temperature more quickly?

!2,100 miles... car is just getting run in and will improve a bit more.
