front number plate replacement

I have to replace the front number plate on a 1996 TDI saloon, the exitsting one has some markings developing and needs replacing.

I am unsure how to do so.

The existing one is glued onto the metal or plastic bumber section in the std place, with vertical strips of glue every 2-3". The glue has let go at one end so the options are to drill and screw if I can get access behind the bumber or replace the glue strip with another adhesive.

So what do I do chaps?

Get 2 self tapping screws and fix the thing or let your girlfriend do it ! You'll see how handy they are with the high heel shoes ?!
