Afternoon all,

I am the (mostly) happy owner of a Mk 5 Golf in SE trim with the 1.6FSI engine. Had a few unhappy experiences with VW Service people and decided to see if the interweb might be able to provide better help.

At the moment am thinking about adding a centre armrest to make those long hauls on the motorway more comfy. Expect a post elsewhere on this sometime soon.

Hi and welcome to the forum Dave

I need a centre armrest for my Bora, they are really easy to fit (so i'm told) but very expensive!

The centre arm rest can be added but most people find them irritating.

Am intrigued - I have driven a couple of Golfs/Passats with the armrest (as hires/borrows) and have only ever found the thing to be nice/useful.

Is there a feeling that it gets in the way? Insight much appreciated before I part with the cash for the kit...

They get in my way, the first thing I do when I get in a car with one is tip it back but often the lid catch is broken and all the contents tip on the floor.
