does anyone know if you can replace ignition key sensor ring on its own and do you need to have it ''coded'' to the car :1zhelp:

The coil is built into the barrel so it means a new key or a wait of six weeks for a matched barrel from Germany.

new one 50 plus vat and having problems getting it out of the assembly not sure if its the sensor ring causing the problem.
immobiliser lamp on starts and run 2 secs and cuts out, been told by quite few bods that for my 97 plate it can sometimes write off the car as too fxpensive to fix.
