Well, As i was saying before about fixing the fan heater in my vento, when putting back the pieces on the centre console i discovered a plug in thing for something???? My car is a 1994 but i cant see how it could be for diagnostics, does anyone have a similar thing on thier golf or vento?
The plug in is on the left of the ash tray. you can get to it by taking out the ash tray and sliding the cover to the right....:1zhelp:

OBDII style socket, it is used for diagnostics of systems capable of diagnostics such as engine, auto box, climate, ABS, air bags and immobiliser when such items are fitted.

okay cool, so how do i know if my engine has that, i mean i was suprised to see it in a 1994 model

94 was the first year to get the new plug. As far as what your engine has got, what are you referring to?

Okay, sorry ididnt phrase that correctly, so that means i can run diagnostics on my engine? do you know where it can be done? A vw dealer or?

why not buy vag com and have a look or see if there are any vag com users from this forum near you,ill be over in the summer to roscommon for the bream and the crack(not the cocaine based drug)
