Hi Guys!

I have read the thread and advice about reprogramming a key fob that's lost its memory (poor thing!)

I'd like to try this out on mine, but the only prob I have is I only have the one key - so how can I have it in the ignition and door lock at the same time!!!???

Is there an alternative method - a one key way?

Cheers!

Hi there,
Try the following, it worked for me.

Ensure all doors and windows on the vehicle are shut.
1). Insert key into driver’s door lock.
2). Turn the key to the unlock position 3 times.
3). Remove the key.
The driver’s door LED will illuminate.
Within 20 seconds:
4). Point the key at the receiver located near the rear view mirror.
5). Press and hold the lock button.
6). Press the unlock button 3 times.
7). Release the lock button.
The driver’s door LED should flash to indicate correct programming.
Repeat 4 to 7 for additional remotes up to a maximum of four.
Wait 15 seconds before trying remote.

Hope this helps

did this today on 2004 alhambra

(this is in the handbook by the way)

complete the following within 1 minute!

put key in driver door lock (all windows closed)

turn to unlock position 3 times holding for approx 1/2 second each time & within 5 seconds! remove the key & observe the red led in the door flash

press & hold lock botton

whilst still pressing "lock" press & release "unlock" 3 times, the door LED & the key fob LED should now flash 5 times to indicate you were successful.

if you have another key, you must repeat from "press & hold lock button" & work fairly quickly (book says within 15 seconds for each key) if no second key then wait until door LED goes out & then try the remote key fob.

good luck & hope it works for you..

Hi Guys!

I want to thank both rikwalter and rhculter for their bit of top advice. I had to give the drivers door key a good wiggle in the lock to get the red light to come on (three times to unlock position didn't do it for me), but after that it was easy-peasy! Sorry I had to ask about this, but I got my Alhambra off my vehicle mechanic bro-in-law, and it didn't come with the manual. He couldn't get the sequence to work either - didn't have the wiggle knack!!

Thanks very much for your help - I was very impressed with my success!!
