Heard of a few Audi cars being stole without a key from home. My question is do you use things like steering lock, trackers etc or rely on you own cars security? If so what would you recommend?

It's either going to go through an OBD key clone or smash and grab for your keys either at home or on your person.

Number 1 is easy enough to defend against by putting keys in RF shielded pouches and moving, locking or removing the OBD port.

Number 2 is all about home security and deterrence really. Lights, cameras, gravel, alarms etc. Then what to do with the keys if the deterrence fails. Some (like I) hide them to make it hard. Some would argue why make it hard as you'd rather lose your car than have armed thieves in your house.

A steering lock is never a bad idea in either scenario as they are a faff.

Trackers will make it easier to get it back but will have to be a good one and hidden well to work.

A simple mod is to tweak the alarm via VCDS to be more sensitive and have a zero delay.

Don't want to get OTT, but instead of prevention (given most of us rely on the manufacturer's alarm and security measures), it's about time the Government came down hard on thieves. I'd have the scroats on a chain gang (I kid you not) picking up litter. Repeat offenders then straight to HM prison.

How do you lock OBD port?

You can buy a physical lock. I moved mine to near the fuses so its impossible to get to without the door being open
