I have a problem with my rear lights. The drivers side rear light is not working, the bulb is fine as i have tried it in the other side.

When i checked the fuses i found that fuse 21 had blown (5A). All the other lights work fine.

When i replaced the fuse all the brake lights became permanatly on. If the fuse is removed all lights work as normal (minus the non working drivers side rear light.)

Anyone got any ideas on the problem.

Cheers
Matt

I'm not sure what fuse 21 feeds, but it sounds to me like you have a short between the live side of fuse 21 and the switch'd side of the brakes..... (assuming fuse isn't for the brake lights!)

In other words, find out what fuse 21 is supposed to be feeding, and then trace (from the rear light cluster, forward) to where the wires are shorting...

Take a look at page 1/16 on the diagram I have sent and you will see fuse 21 feeds the left headlight motor and the left dipped beam bulb. Are you sure it was fuse 21?

Sorry, my mistake, it is fuse 22.

Sorry, my mistake, it is fuse 22.

So i'm guessing that fuse 22 feeds the drivers side dipped beam????

If this was the offending circuit.... a test would be to get someone to press the brakes, and see if the RH side lights came on.....

That would indicate to me, that theres a short between these circuits.

Good Luck

Fuse 22 is on page 6 as is feeds the right tail light bulb and right front side light bulb. Take these two bulbs out and see if a new fuse blows.

Sorry for the delay in replying , I've been very busy !!

No, a new fuse doesnt blow with the bulbs out.
