My front brake flexies are needing to be changed ('98 2.8Q). I got the new ones, but the flats on the ends for turning and tightening seem to be about 15.5mm, and my 15mm spanner slips on them. Added to this, the width of the flats is very small and the spanner will barely squeeze over them.

Does anyone know if this job needs a spacial audi tool or something? Otherwise I'm just going to get the mole grips out.

And can anyone confirm that they have rotating slip joints on the ends, as both ends of my hose have a right hand thread. I was expecting one right and one left.

cheers!

The flats are so the hoses hold still in their brackets and they should not rotate, if the do, get the grips on them. The hoses are all right hand thread as normal.

Ah, I think I see how it works now... I was assuming it would have opposing threads and you'd wind them on simultaneously.

I'd drop on them this weekend then, thanks for the tips!
