I have a 2010 1.6 TDI....
The car will kangaroo in 1st and 2nd gear below 1400 rpm, also fault is evident while pulling up my drive or ramps (revs hunt)
Fault is quite mild (passengers don't notice problem) I have developed a driving style to limit this fault.
I bought this car with bent con rod and while the engine was out:-
Fitted a SMF
DPF delete
EGR delete
And a remap
The problem was evident before remap (although car was driving in limp mode). Ran but was not drivable with the bent rod.
Injector deviations are approx:-
#1 1.0
#2 1.0
#3 -1.0
#4 -1.0
Car idles smoothly.
Drove car approx 2000 miles- no change.
Watching VCDS the injector deviations all go to 0.0002 after 1400 rpm therefore I think that the issue must be related to injector control.
I have had all 4 injectors checked and then serviced, I re-coded new injectors and fault still same.
Have tried testing using wrong injector codes, and the car behaves identically.
Also cleared injector learned values, tried to run minimum fuel adaption ( which I may not have done correctly) held brake and accelerator, glow pulg light flashed for 10 minutes while I held pedals, then I got bored and stopped adaption. Does anyone know how this test should be run and how long it takes? Deviations improved a little but car still has the fault.
Tried disconnecting the MAF sensor, fault still same.
Tried disconnecting glow plugs, fault still same.
I am running out of ideas therefore looking for some advice.
Fuel consumption fine and performance on rolling road was as expected.
I may try replacing the flywheel sensor although it appears to be working correctly with no fault code.
The only other thing I can think of is a faulty ECU?
The engine appears mechanically sound, compression OK.
Maybe an injector is faulty and the injector servicing did not find it (the injectors were returned clean with different codes) so probably unlikely.
Maybe the fault is caused by the SMF?
I am puzzled why idle is smooth especially when I put wrong injector codes into the ECU.
Any ideas?
