Hi,

I have a 2008 B8 with a 2.0tdi 143hp common-rail engine (CAGA) WITHOUT start-stop, and my battery just died its the OEM battery 12v 95Ah with 450amps .
I just looked and Varta has the Varta blue dynamic G13 (http://www.varta-automotive.com/en-gb/products/automotive/blue-dynamic/595-402-080/) it had the same measurements the same 95Ah and 800 amps (more than the OEM) my question is, it doesnt have a BEM code.
So how should I code it?

what values should i use on

Battery Vendor: VA0 (its the varta vendor code)
Battery Serial Number: ? (no idea)
Part Number ? (no idea)

i'm kinda of afraid of driving the car before coding in the battery.
can someone help me please?

thank you

I Have the exact same A4 B8 with the same engine code and i replaced my battery with a battery from my local battery seller 12 months ago with no coding or anything just screwed it in and it is still running.

Just change one digit of the serial under gateway. Your oem was 760A, 450A is different marking, so basickly you installed the same battery anyway!

Oem 760A

You can find varta codes online also, some google search is needed, but result will be the same! Battery-energy manager will act the same anyway!

so basically I either put the varta codes

Battery Vendor: VA0 (its the varta vendor code)
Battery Serial Number: ? (no idea)
Part Number ? (no idea)

or

Battery Vendor: leave as is
Battery Serial Number: change 1 number
Part Number leave as is

is this ok?

Yes its ok to change one digit of serial.
All in total will be 26 letters+numbers in line(space-s included)!

Or you safe to use any of those...

One of them is my current one, but your car does not know that:)

Hi gunnark100

Thank you so much for your help, but the battery is kinda different it has more amps........... its a 95ah and 800amps the OEM was 95ah and 760 amps. I already installed It because it was getting really hard to turn the car on.

Meanwhile VARTA got back to me, they provided with the following.

They said that I sould use 11 digits (any 11 digits it doesnt matter) + VA0 + ETN+ 0

the ETN (european type number) is like a part number 595 402 080

I followed their instructions and came up with this:

8K0915105E (same part number that was already codded)
VA0 (vendor code)
595402080+0 (ETN+0)

8K0915105E VA0 5954020800

would this work? which code should I use? i have to code it I've been driving arround and I am afraid I'll mess something up..
