My 2.0 TDI 177 is struggling to get to normal temperature
I have just travelled 15 miles with heater on and outside temperature -1 degree. The temp gauge does not go above 70 degrees when normally it hits 90 after 7 miles or so.
i know diesels produce little heat but my other diesel Audi will get to 90 degrees irrespective of ambient temperature.
any one else suffering this problem and is it likely to be thermostat.
the car is only two years old and 5k mileage so I guess it is covered by warranty

Ive never had issues with diesels getting up to temp.
If you're getting plenty of heat from the heater its doubtful its the stat. Try replacing the coolant temp sensor. Quick cheap fix.

Is normal. Mine does this too. I have a 163. Drove this morning on the highway for 15 miles and it was on 90 degrees. When i was standing in the traffic jam it went back to 50 degrees
