passenger floor is dry, drivers side was alittle damp, that could be from feet lol

there was alot of condinsation on the inside of windscreen, frozen for a couple morning when it when it went back on the road, since its been in regular use, it hasnt returned

drivers side damp, but its locking and unlocking ok at the moment... i guess its time to check the drain plugs... ive had all the scuttle pannels off, could be related to that

Lightly press the pollen filter surround down, does it squelch from the seal area?

it does, removed it, its split and soaking... trip to the stealler/dealer today :( cleaned the drain holes under battery aswell, any idea on the wet drivers side?? i hope i can dry it out and alls good..

edit: once ive built this back up, what does yous recommend, lift the carpets and try dry it out?

Wiring is damaged by the leak. It's either in the kick panel ( where your left foot would be if sitting in the nsf seat ) or in the ccm under the carpet and nsf seat.

dealer gave me a putty kind of stuff instead of a new seal, fitted that

could swear the passenger front is dry, will probably be a different story once carpet is lifted..

As FLAPPERJACK says, wiring will be damaged.

Lift the passenger side carpet and you'll see your CCM sat in a nice pool of water.

See this thread for someone battling the same thing as you at the moment > What's under the carpet in a 1996 A4? (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/179773-What-s-under-the-carpet-in-a-1996-A4)

If you're lucky, you should get away with drying out the CCM, cleaning the contacts and everything working again. When I did mine I filled the CCM box with silica beads to keep it moisture free.

Carpet in mine appeared dry... it then took 3 months to dry out after replacing pollen filter housing complete with revised seal from VW. £19.. drivers side will be either, Window Regulator Panel leaking, or ecu gasket. Ide go with window reg panel. Common issue.

Indicators don't flash because one of your locks is about to fail I would bet. Mine don't flash anymore as drivers rear door lock has gone. And drivers front. Gonna do all four in the new year...

Anyway I can lock it without alarm going off?? Only way so far is disconnecting battery...

Edit: did search, someone said lock all doors from inside then lock passenger door by pushing button on door and closing with handle in open position

My alarm doesn't go off until the door is opened. Maybe the door closed microswitch has gone in your. My drivers door remains unlocked permanently unless I lock it with the key (never do) and drivers rear hasn't been unlocked for months. Never had an issue with alarm. Indicators don't flash but alarm still arms and sets off if I open drivers unlocked door.

Yes but alarm might still go off with flashing lights but no noise.
