Passenger Climate Control blowing red hot!!

Ok, so my A4 B8 2.0 passenger side vents are blowing hot air, red hot, all the time ! No matter what temp I select , climate control on or off, it is always super hot. What's causing this?

You need vcds to scan faults on module 08, it could be flap motor is dead, but reset basic settings first it may reset flap!

Thanks pal. How much for a vcds? Is it worth the price to buy or get a garage to do it?

Original vcds is around 300-400, best is get someone local to make a scan and reset basic settings. No idea about your location, but if uk, you may try get help here:

I've just had this same fault, nothing I could do would stop it. I took it to an autoelectrican and he diagnosed what Gunnark100 said, a dead flap motor. He replaced it for me, parts and labour all in was £300 or so and now it's working perfectly!

Woow that flap motor is pretty expensive. What was the problem with the motor?

The motor itself was only about £150, price included a couple of hours diagnostic and fitting. Apparently the whole dash had to come off though.
