I'm looking to buy a New Beetle, but only just noticed that they only come with two rear seat belts. :zx11:

I'm a childminder and need the extra belt (even a two-point lap belt) to ferry all the kids around - does anyone know how easy / feasible it is to fit one?

Thanks in advance for any :1zhelp:

Ray,

Have you done this and if so, could you provide some details on how you went about putting the seat belt in? I have been wondering for a long time how to best do this so that I can get the darned car seat out and give my brood a bit more room in back.

Thanks.

I just noticed it looks like Ray has not been around in a while. Has anyone else added a third seat belt to their beetle?

I have just added a lap belt to my 2000 2.0 beetle, I used a lap belt from a mk4 golf, took 15 mins, only 2 17mm bolts to undo and do up again. parts were £20 from a vw breakers. If you need to know anything just ask!

Best check with your insurance company before making any changes like that......
