Removing Luggage Compartment Floor

Am having trouble removing the luggage compartment floor in my GT spec estate, thought I would bring it in the house for a good hoover.

The manual gives instructions on how to do it but it doesn't work for me, but then the manual gives instructions for lowering the floor. However, that doesn't work either due to the spare wheel as others have noted.

Has anybody managed to remove the floor?

Yes but I can't describe how as I'm overseas. I seem to remember just pulling it backwards and sliding the forward section out. Getting it back in is more difficult.

In those plastic mouldings each side under the floor there are a couple of sections at the forward end you can push outwards and I seem to remember they might have something to do with removal too.

Ben, is your Estate the GT spec with full size spare?

It's an SE estate with a space-saver wheel, which leaves a 4" space under the floor.
