Alloy repair

Scuffed one of my 19" R Line alloys yesterday quite badly - hugely annoying - and have put the spare wheel on as I hate scuffed alloys (thank God VW supply one and not that awful space saver or pump'n'gunk solution). Has anybody had any experience with alloy repair companies - I **** to know if they can just repair the scuff in the scuffed area or whether they'd need to repair then re-paint the whole wheel (concerned it won't match)?

Never had an offer to repair and refinish just the damaged area. To get it looking right the damaged area has to be repaired by replacing the lost material and more, then refinishing the repaired area to the correct profile(s) before repainting the whole wheel and finally adding clear coat. If not impossible its probably at least as time consuming to just repaint the refurbished and adjacent areas and get it to blend unnoticeably with the rest on something as complex as an alloy wheel.

Polished or diamond cut alloys are even more of a nightmare.
