Hi,

I was hoping someone on here could advise me about an issue I had with my car. I tried to engage the handbrake a few days ago, and the parking brake light on the button started flashing. At the same time the car kept making a warning noise and a parking brake malfunction warning was on the dash. I tried to stop and start the car to no avail initially. It was only after I restarted the car a few times, the parking brake actually engaged (I could hear the motors doing their thing).

I've scanned with VCDS and got the below faults. It seems fine now but wanted to hear from others who may have had a similar issue and what the resolution was for them

Admittedly I can't help with regards to your technical details you shared.

But I did have a parking break malfunction last year and it turned out to be corroded parking break motors. I ended up having both replaced under warranty. I had issues afterwards and then they replaced the parking break module and switch too.

It seems that they can be susceptible to corrosion though so may be worth checking for that.

Hi, thanks for the response. I've looked up the codes on Ross tech and they suggest an issue with connection.

02433 - Ross-Tech Wiki (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/02433)

I've spoken to someone else and they've mentioned the connectors on the motor need to be cleaned. I'll have to get it to some dealer to have a thorough look but it's not happened since
