Hi,
Just introducing myself. I am a Golf owner. 1996 P reg mk3 Tdi. I am a slightly handy and like to fix problems on my car when I am confident I can do the job, otherwise it goes to a proper mechanic. I once used a dimwit mechanic who failed to grease my rear bearings and the wheel came off on the M62 at 70mph. I own a haynes manual and quite a few tools.
Hope to seek some advice from the knowledgeable ones on this forum :)
Previous fixes
I replaced Relay #109 when my car used to cut out without reason - Fixed :)
I replaced my car lighter with a USB charger :)
I fixed an aftermarket RClick to my car so now its all remote control :)
I fixed my locks when the little hook kept breaking on both sides. I replaced with the VW stonger locks and now they dont break. :)
I fixed my O/S passenger electric window :)
I fixed my airbag light by replacing the clock spring. :)
I bought a U281 fault code reader and wiped the errors off my car. :)
I changed my turbo pipes (not all of them) for silicone ones as they were degraded and leaky so now i got good power and no errors. :)
Replaced the pipe in my ECU as well. :)
Replaced most of my lights with LEDs except the indicators as they flash too frequently. :)
I replaced my car seats for leather ones (Deep aubergine purple) :)
Changed a rear light cluster. :)
Changed a central locking pump. :)
Replaced an end exhaust piece. :)
.....uhm now trying to change CV boots and perhaps a bearing.
