Good afternoon,

I am a new passat owner and hoping for some help.
At the moment i am getting some issues where the car seems to loose power. I think it is limp mode? it can happen at any time and feels as if someone switches off the turbo.
When this happens i can put the car in neutral and turn engine off / on again and the issue is resolved.

My mechanic friend plugged in a thing called Solus Ultra and said there were errors being reported,
The error codes i have been given are as follows:
19586 EGR System Regulation Range Exceeded P3130 _-Intermittent
19464 Cam Position Sensor - G40 Not A Plausible Signal P3008

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

I'm hoping its something i can fix myself

Clear the codes , Stored & Pending

Drive the car until it goes into limp mode , keep engine running & read codes

Could be Mass Air Flow meter away , usually cuts out just before turbo really kicks in ,switch engine off and its like new until you get up to point turbo kicks in , say 2,400 rpm or so ................. but wild guess until you clear the codes and read again when engine has fault light on

yeah i had all codes cleared off and that is what came up after clearing.
Unfortunately not easy for me to get access to garage.
Was thinking of getting an odb2 bluetooth device and pair to my iphone, would that work?

it might work , I use an autel vag 505 and its £80 ish from amazon/ ebay . It does a lot of handy things and covers a wide range of things. I think its the same as the Sealey

So i took the plastic cover off my engine yesterday and found a gaping hole in a vacume line coming off the egr?

That'll do it. Replace the line. Vacuum lines can be a PITA on these cars, and there's loads of them. Fix that and try again. See if it helps.
