Hi there...I have a Mk2 Golf Gti 8v with a digifant injection system that just wont start. All the ignition lights come on and act normaly. The starter motor works fine, its just the fuel pump doesnt pressurise automaticaly and there is no spark at the plugs.

I can run the fuel pump manualy by putting a charge to it and have changed the ecu and ignition module with no joy.

Has anybody got any ideas pls. :aargh4:

That sounds like no power feed to the ECU, is it an 87 to 89 or 90 onwards car? The late car (with the hazard warning light switch on top of the steering column) had an ECU relay at position 3 (32 printed on top) and these often play up.

To quickly test, pop the relay out and drop a bridge across sockets 4 and 6 on the relay plate (these correspond to pins 30 and 87 on the relay) and see if it runs.

Ok thanks...which pin does the power come into..I have a feeling that there may be no power going into the relay in the first place...Your post has given me the confidence to give it yet another go at getting it started.

Pin 30 on the relay is the power in but I can’t remember which socket that corresponds to from memory as I am at home. Offer the relay up to the plate and see which socket 30 corresponds to, probably 4. If there was no power at 30 then everything should be dead as that is battery (UNFUSED, take care) live.
