Hello everyone, this is my first post in the Tiguan forum. Hope it is OK to ask a question?
i have just purchased a 2014 Tiguan Match Blue Motion with just 7000 miles on the clock. Overall quite pleased, comfy ride, nice interior and mpg looks OK so far. My question concerns road noise. Tyres are 235/55/17 Dunlop SP Sport. I have not had a SUV before, is road noise a common problem on this model? Can anything be done to reduce the noise? Is there such a thing as a sound deadening kit available?
Any help would be much appreciated..
Thanks

I have the very same model but in toffee brown metallic I find there is quite a lot of tyre road noise caused by the type of road surface your driving on. The tiguan is also known to cause a feathered tread wear on the front , if the tyres are then switched to the rear it causes a roar sort of like a wheel bearing noise (droning sound).

When I bought my Tiguan R-Line, I felt the noise and droning too much and took it to a tyre specialist. Ended up taken the Bridgestone's off and putting on Michelins. Different car now and I'm happy.
