I'm new to the Audi Kamp - so newbie questions are game::approve:

I'd like to put a stronger engine into an '05 convertible::1zhelp:

is the 2.5 Audi V6 TDi a 10.6 or 15 degree V that will fit easily
into the chassis ?

is the newer 3.0 V6 TDi the same V degree spread ?

thanks in Advance !

It's 90 degree and would only fit in the back!

You're better off selling your bug and buy a ready made a4 with the v6 tdi in it ! As you have been told, the 2.5 Tdi engine is a 90 degrees and there is not enough rom in the engine bay for that engine. The 2.5 tdi 5 cylinders inline will fit, actually that's what the Vw golf race car has on !

bingo.

The 2.5 TDi is choice:

The T-5 TDi 5 cyl. Transporter 174hp engine is built for transverse installations -
question is: will it fit into a New Beetle ?

It's all new - compact - seems to me it should bolt in - ..... any more info. on
the Vw Golf racer ?

It is a big unit, it may fit but it would be hell working on it. Just imagine changing a timing belt! It would also be rather unrefined I think. Why not fit a 150 PD TDI tuned to 190 ish PS, that would be much better. The T5 engine would be 8100dy heavy as well.

Crasher > check that .pdf link I posted - i

The 'new' T - 5 2.5 5cly. Tdi Aluminium Cylinder Block and a Gear Drive SOHC .

new T - 5 Alloy Block has one design for inline and one for transverse mounting -
the 'Treg' VW TDi racer uses is R5 race configuration
285HP Twin sequential Turbo mounted transversal, the Transporter motor.

I think this 5cyl. Alloy Block gear drive 10 valve sohc vvnt Turbo motor is like the sleeper cell of terrorist VW engines.

I tried that link last night but it doesn’t work. I took a pic of a friends TDI 5 conversion in a Bora at the Essen 05 show but I can't get it to post on here at a decent quality.
