Rear screen washer issue

Hi all

Firstly, apologies if this has been covered but could not find anything.

I have a 55 plate GT TDi. All washers front and rear work fine when pusing the stalk for the required action. However my issue is when i use the front was wipe motion, the rear jet also engages. Not at full capacity but at about half. Yet when i engage the rear wash wipe its at full capacity.

Does anyone know what the issue is here? Could it be a new washer pump required?

there is a single pump with 2 outlets. i would say it either needs a clean out or replacing. there are small valves to control which way the water goes and the motor spins both ways, one for front and one for rear. one of the valves is not working.
