Audi Smartphone Interface

Can anyone advise if the Audi Smartphone Interface can be retro fitted to the car after delivery? I've got an Audi A6 Black Edition 2.0 TDI Auto which was delivered in July 16

I had wanted to spec this but by the time the new brochure was published with this listed as an option, it was too late as my car was already in the manufacturing process.

At present there is no retrofit possible, and from what I've read the smartphone license held on the MMI system appears to be linked to the VIN number. Give it a year or so and there may be a hack available, but that would mostly likely invalidate the warranty on your MMI system, if it was detected during an SVM update.

Psuedo smart phone interface of sorts.......

1) OEM AMI to RCA lead

2) RCA to HDMI converter

3) Apple HDMI / lighting plug

4) iPhone 6+ (or phone of your choice)

5) enable VIM


choose apps you want on the screen ie google maps, message , telephone... , once mirrored on the screen control each app via "SIRI".

not a perfect solution but better than nothing.
