Spare tyre the wrong size?

I have 18" rims as the main tyres.

The compact spare is a 15" rim and the overall diameter (with the tyre fitted) is smaller, so the car will be 'down on one side' should the spare be fitted.

Is this a mistake on the part of Audi?

I`d hope it was a mistake. One indicator of the correct size spare will be on the Sticker for your tyre pressures, and of course, your owners handbook, which I bet you`ve already checked!

Apparently this is 'normal' as a factory fit (according to Audi dealer). Audi are somehow ok that for short distances and low speeds one wheel can have a smaller diameter...

Let me know if anyone knows different...

Who has a space-saver spare with the same outside diameter as their tyres on 18" rims? Anyone checked?
