I didn't choose privacy glass so am getting my new car tinted locally by a specialist for £150. Has anyone else had this done as an aftermarket thing with your A4, or any other car? anything to be wary of or has it been trouble free for you?

Thanks.

I've no experience getting it done but will be doing the same when I receive my car! Looks a lot better.

I got my car on a lease so didn't take the (IMO compulsary!) window tints.

I ordered the full rear blind set from Windesa for around £160 and they're fantastic. From the outside it looks like tints and you can still put the windows up and down. Plus the rear screen is one-piece unlike some of the other brands that are 2-piece and have a big line down the middle.

But mostly I'm happy that I'll be able to take them out and sell them on once the car goes back!

So, I didn't got through with tinting after all. The rear quarters and the rear screen have dot matrix "hatching" around the edges and evidently the tinting film doesn;t stick to it which leaves you with an obvious band around 1cm wide which looking slightly silver in the daylight. The tinter said that it's unavoidable on cars with the matrix as the film wont properly stick to the small patched of glass inbvetween the dots. I just don't like the look at all so didn't go for it - gutted :(
