Hi All. Could anyone help me out on this please? I'm currently waiting for delivery of a new A4. It's just arrived in the UK and will presumably take a few weeks to arrive at the dealership. Obviously I'd prefer a '66 plate. When do Audi register the car? If it arrives there before September, how much scope is there to hold off on registration to take it to September 1st? It would be a shame to have a brand new car with a plate that's outdated in a week. What are my options? Cheers.

The DOR is the date you pick it up from the dealer. Communicate with your sales rep to arrange this.

You can sometimes prearrange this too. I had a BMW delivered on the 31/8 and had to sign an agreement not to drive it before the 1st.

Good stuff. Just hoping the dealership don't register it before collection. Trying to get it in the previous sales figures or something! I can wait a week or two.

They will be very used to people holding off to get the new reg. Just tell them that's what you want to do

Mine is being delivered on 1st Sept and I already have the 66 reg no so that tells you everything. Enjoy!

Why worry about the registration number, as long as it's a 2017 model year that's all that matters. After all you can't see the number plate from inside the car.
If it was available to collect on Monday I'd be round there like a shot.
The new model is really nice, I took delivery of mine in May and I've just clocked 10K so hopefully you'll be just as pleased with yours. ����

Hi, when we ordered our new A6 from Aberdeen Audi back in May, the salesman said they would hold on to the car till 1st September without us even asking so that when we come to sell the car we would get more money for it being a newer registration number. Aberdeen Audi phoned last week to say that the car has arrived there and we could pick an appointment time to take delivery of it.
