Change Engine Size

I wish to replace my T4 1.9 ordinary diesel with a more powerful one.
I bought the van new in 1994 and have done several bodywork mods. so I would like to keep it, only 80,000 miles.
I have bought a new larger caravan and the existing engine lacks enough power to pull it properly.
I read that the 2.4 unit is not very good but is it practical to change to a turbo?
Any help would be appreciated.

Installing any of the available engines is practical as long as you have a full donor vehicle available. To go out and source all the parts individually would be a nightmare and obviously a full donor vehicle will show you where everything goes.
