Diesel system bleeding - 2012 Tiguan 2.0 DTI 4 Motion

Apologies if this is a repeat, but despite my hunt I could not find a post to help with priming fuel system on a late model VW DTI.

trying to change fuel filter but reluctant to start until in know how to get the air out again.

I have VCDS that communicates with car. I have figured out how to run the fuel pump in the tank but cannot seem to run the high pressure pump in the engine bay. It seems the late model switch to UDS protocol has removed the option to chose the equipment group 035 to run both.

if anyone can help I would be grateful, but please make the explanation childproof as I'm a newbie at VCDS.

If you fill the new filter with diesel you don't need VCDS.

Thanks Rowdy, I have obviously been a bit paranoid about the Tiguansnot self priming as the fuel pumps don't run when the ignition is turned on.
