Passenger Window Fault

Hi
Have had 2001 1.8 T Sport for nearly year great car ! However 1st bit of trouble...the Passenger side window started to sound a bit noisy recently but worked ok..now it is stuck up and seems to work electricly but just a load graunching metalic noise and nothing happens up or down...Help any ideas?:1zhelp:

sounds as though you need a new window regulator.
Check that current is getting to the motor-=fuse OK and lights dim when you try and operate the window (but not for too long) and after that the cables that run around the frame of the regulator are famous for wearing and fraying until they jam the window. Luckily yours i up as happened to my Polo.
The regulator is cheaper than the motor so keep your fingers crossed !
