Polo 2006 9N3 Bonnet

Hi,
The bonnet on my car is stuck close.
I have take the lever in the cabin out, as it was loose. I have pulled the cable in its sleeve but still no joy.
can here something moving near the catch when I pull on cable.
have taken the VW badge out but cant get to the catch.
How to release it please help.

get an assistant to push down and pull up on the bonnet as you pull the cable.

Is there a hole or a tab one can get to or pull to release it?
